this page explains what data down to tenths collects when you visit downtotenths.com or sign up to be notified at launch. plain language, no surprises.
who we are
down to tenths is an independent publication about Formula 1 — data, telemetry, strategy, engineering. the site is operated by the project owner. you can reach us at hello@downtotenths.com.
what we collect
- email address — only when you submit the launch signup form. used to email you when we launch and, occasionally, about related updates.
- analytics events — anonymous-by-default product analytics via PostHog: pageviews, clicks, basic device/browser metadata, and form submissions. used to understand what works on the site.
- server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) may keep short-lived request logs (ip address, user agent) for security and abuse prevention.
what we don't do
- we don't sell your data.
- we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- we don't use third-party advertising or remarketing trackers.
legal basis
we process your email on the basis of your consent (submitting the form). analytics and security logging rely on our legitimate interest to operate, secure and improve the site. you can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us.
processors we use
- Vercel — hosting and edge delivery.
- PostHog (EU region) — product analytics.
- Neon — database used to store newsletter signups.
these processors handle data on our behalf under their own data protection terms. data may be processed in the EU and, where applicable, in jurisdictions covered by standard contractual clauses.
retention
we keep your email until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe. analytics events are retained for up to 12 months in aggregate form.
your rights
under GDPR and similar regimes you can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your data, and you can object to processing. email hello@downtotenths.comand we'll action it within 30 days.
cookies
we use a minimal set of first-party cookies / local storage for analytics session continuity. no advertising cookies. you can clear them from your browser at any time without affecting site functionality.
children
the site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
changes
if this policy changes materially we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
